Kwan Yin Statue, Tagua Fruit (AKA Palm FruitIvory)
Kwan Yin Statue, Tagua Fruit (AKA Palm FruitIvory)
This amazing Tagua Fruit (AKA Palm FruitIvory) Statue depicts a standing Quan Yin (or Kwan-yin, also known as Avalokitesvara, Goddess of Compassion) wearing flowing robes and holding Buddhist beads, with an elegant demeanor. Tagua Fruit (AKA PalmIvory) is sourced from the tagua palm tree, which produces a nut containing white fluids, similar to a coconut. Once the fruit ripens, the white material hardens and looks like elephant tusk material. PalmIvory has relaxing effects, a principle that has been conceded down through the millennium. It is a smooth “stone” with a structure that feels enjoyable in the hands. By simply rubbing such carvings between your forefinger and thumb, you can sense the soothing effect within your body.
The statue is approximately 7.5" wide and weighs 250 grams.
